ClinConnect Summary
The ReActivate trial is studying a new treatment to help teenagers who are dealing with ongoing pain and feelings of emotional distress, like anxiety or stress. This project aims to develop a program led by physiotherapists that encourages physical activity and helps young people gradually re-engage with activities they may be avoiding due to their pain or distress. By focusing on these issues early, the hope is to prevent them from becoming bigger problems in adulthood.
To be part of this trial, participants need to be between the ages of 12 and 19 and have had consistent pain in their muscles or joints for at least three months, along with some signs of emotional distress. Eligible teens should also be able to communicate in Swedish and complete some questionnaires. Those interested can expect to work with a physiotherapist in a supportive environment focused on improving their physical and emotional health. Importantly, the trial excludes individuals with serious health issues or severe mental health challenges, ensuring a safe and focused approach for participants.
