ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how using a simple ultrasound technique called lung ultrasound (LUS) can help physiotherapists create better treatment plans for patients who are in the hospital with breathing problems. The goal is to see if LUS can provide important information that helps improve care for these patients.

To be part of this study, patients need to be hospitalized in a general ward and have experienced breathing difficulties for less than 48 hours. They should also have a chest X-ray taken within a day before or after the lung ultrasound. However, patients who have certain skin issues on their chest, are wearing bandages, or cannot understand instructions due to mental or language barriers won’t be eligible. If you participate in this trial, you can expect to undergo a lung ultrasound, which is a quick and painless test, and then have your physiotherapy treatment adjusted based on the results. This study is currently recruiting participants aged 65 to 74, and it welcomes individuals of all genders.
