ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how Tai Chi, a gentle form of exercise, can help improve symptoms and quality of life for patients undergoing hemodialysis, a treatment for kidney failure. Participants will be divided into three groups: one will practice Tai Chi for 30 minutes three times a week, another will engage in Tai Chi imagery (a mental practice of Tai Chi) for the same duration, and the third group will continue with their usual care. The researchers want to see how these different activities affect the patients’ symptoms and overall well-being.

To be eligible for this trial, participants should be at least 18 years old, have been on dialysis for at least three months, and be able to move and learn independently. They should also be able to understand the information provided and give their informed consent to participate. However, those who cannot move on their own, have serious mental health issues, or other major health problems will not be eligible. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to shed light on how Tai Chi might improve daily life for dialysis patients.
