ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a new treatment method called antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) to see if it can help patients with a specific dental condition known as apical periodontitis, which is often associated with a painful bump called a fistula. The study will compare two groups of participants: one group will receive standard dental treatment, while the other group will receive the same treatment but with the addition of aPDT. The goal is to find out if the extra therapy helps reduce symptoms, heal the fistula, and improve overall oral health.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a single-rooted tooth affected by apical periodontitis and a fistula. However, certain individuals are excluded, such as those with serious health conditions like cancer or diabetes, people currently wearing braces, and pregnant or nursing women. If you join the study, you’ll receive dental care and will be monitored to see how well the treatments work. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could contribute valuable information to improve dental treatment options for others.
