ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the levels of a protein called irisin in patients with leprosy. The researchers want to understand how the amount of irisin in the blood of leprosy patients compares to those who are healthy. They are also interested in seeing if the levels of irisin vary between different types of leprosy.
To participate in this study, individuals must be newly diagnosed with leprosy. Unfortunately, those who have had leprosy for a long time or have certain health conditions, like heart disease, diabetes, or polycystic ovary syndrome, cannot join. If you qualify and choose to participate, you will have your blood tested to measure the irisin levels. This information could help improve our understanding of leprosy and how it affects the body. The trial is currently looking for participants of all genders aged between 54 and 92 years.
