African American Black Personalized Feedback Intervention

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new mobile app designed to help Black individuals who are struggling with drinking too much alcohol and also dealing with anxiety. The app aims to provide personalized feedback and information to help users understand how anxiety and alcohol use are connected. It encourages participants to think about their drinking habits and motivates them to reduce their alcohol intake, especially in situations where they might use alcohol to cope with anxiety.

To participate in this study, you need to be at least 21 years old, identify as Black or African American, and have both hazardous drinking patterns and clinical anxiety. You should also have a smartphone and be able to give your consent to join. If you’re currently receiving treatment for substance use or mental health issues, or if you’re pregnant, you won’t be eligible for this trial. Participants will have the opportunity to use the app and contribute to research that could help improve support for others facing similar challenges.
