ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different types of insulin delivery systems to see which one works better for managing blood sugar levels in people with Type 1 diabetes (T1DM) during Ramadan fasting. The two systems being compared are called Advanced Hybrid Closed Loop (AHCL) and open-loop insulin delivery (OLID). This study is important because it will give us a clearer understanding of how each system performs while people are fasting, which hasn’t been studied in this way before. The findings could help doctors make better recommendations for T1DM patients who are fasting during Ramadan.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between the ages of 14 and 70 and have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes for at least a year. They should also have been using the open-loop insulin system for at least six months. Unfortunately, pregnant women or those taking certain medications that affect blood sugar levels cannot join. Participants will follow a specific study plan during Ramadan, and their experiences will help improve diabetes management for many others in the future.
