ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is examining how well the TRiP(cast) score works in assessing the risk of blood clots in patients who have injured their lower limbs and need to keep the leg still, like in a cast. The study aims to compare the TRiP(cast) score with doctors' own assessments of risk to see how consistent they are. Researchers want to ensure that both methods give similar results when determining the potential for conditions like deep vein thrombosis (a type of blood clot) or pulmonary embolism (a clot that travels to the lungs).
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a specific type of lower limb injury that requires immobilization for at least a week, such as in a cast. However, patients who are already taking blood-thinning medications or who have more serious injuries that need longer hospital stays cannot participate. If you join the study, you will undergo assessments to see how your risk of blood clots is evaluated using both the TRiP(cast) score and the doctor's judgment. This trial is currently looking for participants, so if you think you might qualify, it could be an opportunity to contribute to important medical research.
