ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a device called a handheld dynamometer can measure trunk muscle strength in adolescents with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS). Scoliosis is a condition where the spine curves in an unusual way, which can affect muscle strength and balance. The goal of the study is to see if the measurements taken by this device are reliable and accurate for evaluating the strength of trunk muscles in young people with scoliosis. This information could help doctors better assess and treat patients with this condition.
To participate in the trial, individuals should be between the ages of 10 and 18 and have been diagnosed with AIS by an orthopedic specialist. Participants will undergo muscle strength tests over a couple of visits, where they will be evaluated by two different testers to ensure consistency in measurements. It’s important that participants do not have a history of certain injuries or conditions and have not engaged in heavy physical activity before the testing days. This study aims to provide valuable insights for healthcare providers working with adolescents with scoliosis.
