ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different methods of spinal anesthesia—hypobaric and hyperbaric—to see which one helps manage pain better and protects patients' vital signs during and after hip surgery. The goal is to find out which method is more effective for older patients who may have other health issues and are at a higher risk during surgery.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have a lower risk of surgery (classified as ASA I or II). Unfortunately, those with more serious health concerns (ASA III or IV) or any conditions that would prevent spinal anesthesia cannot take part. If you decide to participate, you can expect to receive either the hypobaric or hyperbaric spinal anesthesia during your surgery, and your health will be closely monitored to see how well each method works in controlling pain and maintaining stable vital signs.
