ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method to help reduce pain after hip surgery in children. Researchers are looking at a combination of two types of nerve blocks—pericapsular nerve group block and lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block—to see if they can make the post-operative experience more comfortable for young patients. The trial is currently seeking participants aged between 1 to 9 years who will undergo surgery on one hip.
To be eligible for this study, children must be in good health (classified as ASA physical status I or II) and scheduled for unilateral hip surgery (meaning only one hip will be operated on). Parents will need to give their consent for their child to participate. However, children with certain medical conditions like bleeding disorders, infections at the injection site, or allergies to the medications used will not be able to join. Participants can expect to receive the nerve blocks before their surgery, which may help manage their pain more effectively after the procedure.
