ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a specific model (Eleveld’s model) can help doctors understand how the drug propofol affects patients during surgery. Propofol is commonly used to help patients relax and lose consciousness while undergoing elective (planned) surgeries. In this study, researchers will give propofol very slowly to healthy patients and monitor how well the model predicts changes in consciousness and brain activity during the procedure. The goal is to see how accurately the model can measure the effects of propofol as patients go in and out of consciousness.
To participate in this trial, you must be a healthy adult aged between 18 and 60 years who is scheduled for elective surgery at the Hospital Base San José Osorno in Chile. Some individuals may not qualify, such as those having emergency surgery, those with certain medical conditions affecting consciousness, or those allergic to propofol. If you join the study, you can expect close monitoring during your surgery and your responses to the medication will be carefully recorded to improve understanding of propofol use in surgical settings.
