ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the MIND Diet and Cognitive Function in Middle-aged and Older Adults, is looking at how a special diet known as the MIND diet can help keep our brains healthy as we age. The MIND diet combines elements of the Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet, focusing on foods that may help slow down memory loss and cognitive decline. Over the course of a year, 1,200 adults between the ages of 40 and 69 will participate to see if following this diet can make a difference in their cognitive function, which means how well they think, remember, and learn.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be able to chew and eat foods like nuts, be willing to sign a consent form, and understand the study procedures. However, those who have participated in other clinical trials in the past year or are taking medications for Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease, or who have severe health issues like cancer, won't be able to join. If you or a family member are interested in participating, you can expect to learn more about the MIND diet and how to follow it, while also contributing to important research on brain health. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into maintaining cognitive function in middle-aged and older adults.
