ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking into how we can better identify age-related hearing loss, which is a growing concern as many people age. The World Health Organization estimates that by 2050, 2.5 billion people will experience some level of hearing loss, with many needing help to improve their hearing. The goal of this study is to see if involving patients more actively in their hearing assessments can speed up the diagnosis process, helping more people get the support they need sooner.

To participate in this trial, individuals aged 65 to 74 who can understand Finnish or Swedish may be eligible, as long as they do not already have a clinical diagnosis of hearing loss. Those who join the study can expect to take part in assessments that aim to improve how we detect hearing issues related to aging. This is an important step in addressing the rising need for hearing rehabilitation in our communities.
