ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different health training programs can help older people improve their health behaviors. The study will compare two types of training: one led by peers (other older adults) and another led by nurses. The goal is to see which method is more effective in helping seniors adopt healthier habits, such as taking care of their health and seeking medical help when needed. The trial will take place in two elderly homes in Antalya, Turkey, and will involve 108 participants aged 65 and older.
To be eligible, participants need to have a low to moderate score on a health behavior checklist, attend the elderly home at least once a week, live in Antalya, be able to use a smartphone, speak and understand Turkish, and have no signs of dementia or help needed for daily activities. The training will last for 12 weeks, and participants will be assessed before and after the program to measure changes in their health behaviors and overall well-being. Additionally, there will be interviews to gather deeper insights about the experiences of those who took part in the training.
