ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how neuropathic pain, which is a type of pain resulting from nerve issues, may develop in people who have had ankle fractures. Researchers want to understand the underlying causes of this pain in patients who have undergone surgery for specific types of ankle fractures. The goal is to improve the way we manage chronic pain after such injuries.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 18 and 85 years old and have suffered a specific type of ankle fracture that was treated with surgery. They should also be able to read, speak, and understand English. Importantly, individuals with a history of chronic pain conditions or other significant injuries will not be included. Participants in the trial will not receive any direct treatment for pain but will be part of a careful study to gather information that could help others in the future.
