ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether exercising before surgery can help prevent lymphedema in women with breast cancer. Lymphedema is a swelling condition that often occurs after surgery, and while there is no cure for it, finding ways to prevent it is very important. The researchers also want to see if preoperative exercise can help with other common issues that breast cancer patients face, such as tightness in the chest muscles and limited movement in the shoulder.
To participate in this trial, women aged 20 to 79 who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer and are scheduled for surgery after starting chemotherapy may be eligible. However, those who have medical conditions that would make exercise difficult or painful cannot join. Participants can expect to engage in an exercise program designed to improve their overall health before their surgery, which may help reduce the risk of lymphedema and other complications. The trial is currently looking for volunteers to take part.
