ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether vitamin C can help prevent lung problems after surgery for brain tumors. Researchers want to find out if giving patients vitamin C during and after their surgery can improve their recovery and reduce the chances of complications related to breathing. To do this, they will compare vitamin C to a placebo, which is a saltwater solution that does not contain any active medicine. Participants will receive vitamin C through an IV for two hours right after their anesthesia starts, and the team will monitor their health closely during and after the surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between 18 and 75 years old and need surgery for a brain tumor. They should not have severe lung infections or other serious health issues that could complicate their surgery. If they agree to join the study and provide consent, they will be followed until they leave the hospital and then contacted again six months later to check on their recovery. This study is designed to help improve the care for patients undergoing brain tumor surgery by finding safe and effective ways to reduce lung complications.
