ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a medication called nicorandil can help manage blood sugar levels and body weight in people with type 2 diabetes who are also obese. The study specifically focuses on participants who are currently using another type of diabetes medication called sulfonylureas. Researchers want to see if adding nicorandil to their treatment plan can improve their overall health.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be between 18 and 60 years old, have had diabetes for 1 to 10 years, and have a body mass index (BMI) over 30, which indicates obesity. Certain individuals, such as pregnant women or those with severe kidney or liver issues, cannot participate. If you join the study, you will receive more information about what to expect, including any tests or assessments that will be done. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so it’s a great opportunity for those who qualify to potentially benefit from a new treatment option.
