ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new way to help people with epilepsy through a web-based music application. Specifically, it aims to see if listening to music can have a positive effect on adults with a type of epilepsy called refractory focal epilepsy, which means their seizures are not well controlled by medication. The study will be done at home, where participants will use the music application on their personal devices.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be adults aged 65 to 74 who have had a special device called a Responsive Neurostimulator (RNS) implanted for at least six months, and their doctor considers their RNS treatment stable. Participants will need to attend study visits and have access to the internet. It’s important to note that individuals with a specific type of seizure triggered by music cannot join the study. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to gather valuable information on how this innovative music therapy could help manage epilepsy.
