ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a supplement called nicotinamide riboside (NR), along with exercise, to see if it can help improve health as we age. Researchers believe that boosting a substance in our bodies called NAD+ may improve energy and help our muscles function better, especially in older adults. The trial aims to find out if combining NR with regular exercise can lead to better health outcomes, particularly in reducing age-related diseases like obesity and diabetes.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 60 and 80 years old and have a body mass index (BMI) between 25 and 35. You should have stable eating habits and not have any serious heart, liver, or kidney issues. Participants can expect to take the NR supplement, engage in exercise, and undergo health assessments throughout the trial. Importantly, this study is looking for individuals who do not currently exercise more than two hours a week and are not using other similar supplements. This trial could provide valuable insights into healthy aging and the role of nutrition and exercise.
