ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping older Latinos with disabilities improve their daily functioning and overall quality of life through a special program called VIVE-AT, which uses technology tailored to their cultural needs. Researchers will first gather input from community members to make sure the program meets the participants' needs. They plan to invite 76 Spanish-speaking Latino adults aged 65 and older, who can live independently but have some difficulties with physical activities, to take part in the study. To qualify, participants should not live in a nursing home, should not require home healthcare, and must be able to participate in a six-week group program without significant memory issues.
Participants in the trial will be randomly assigned to either receive the VIVE-AT program at a local clinic or be placed on a waitlist while still receiving regular phone support. Everyone in the study will continue to get their usual medical care. This trial is currently not recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into how technology can support older adults in underserved communities.
