ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on reducing health disparities related to sexually transmitted infections (STIs), specifically chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV. The study offers free testing for these STIs to young African American or Black individuals aged 15 to 26 who live or spend most of their time in Orleans Parish. If a participant tests positive for any of these infections, they will receive counseling and options for treatment, which may include no-cost medication for themselves and their sexual partners. Participants can also choose to be tested again three months after their treatment.
To be eligible for this study, participants must identify as African American or Black, be between 15 and 26 years old, and have had vaginal sex at least once. However, those who are pregnant, already know they are HIV positive, or cannot provide consent will not be able to participate. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to provide essential health services to a vulnerable group and help improve their overall sexual health.
