ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at the levels of tiny particles called microparticles in packed red blood cell (pRBC) units, which are often used in blood transfusions. The goal is to understand how these microparticles might affect patients who receive blood transfusions, especially since some people can have adverse reactions to the transfused blood. Researchers want to ensure that pRBCs are as safe and effective as possible for everyone who needs them.

To participate in this study, donors must meet specific health guidelines set by the Egyptian National Transfusion Services and pass certain blood tests to check for infections. The trial is open to people aged between 65 and 87, and it welcomes all genders. If you or a family member are eligible and decide to take part, you can expect to contribute to important research that could improve blood transfusion safety in the future.
