ClinConnect Summary
The TREAD trial is studying whether a specific eating schedule can help improve cognitive health in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). This eating plan, called time-restricted eating, involves fasting for 16 hours each day and eating within an 8-hour window, five days a week, for three months. The researchers want to see how well participants stick to this plan and if it has any positive effects on their thinking abilities and overall health.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 60 and 80 years old, have a diagnosis of MCI, and have a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 40.0. They should also have internet access and a supportive family member to help them with the study activities. Participants will complete assessments at the beginning and end of the study to measure changes in cognitive performance, health markers, and well-being. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to gather important information about the potential benefits of time-restricted eating for people with MCI.
