ClinConnect Summary
The SCD-ReCODED Study is a clinical trial aimed at helping older adults who feel they are experiencing memory or thinking problems, known as subjective cognitive decline (SCD). These individuals are at a higher risk of developing dementia in the future. The trial is testing a new program that uses immersive virtual reality (IVR) and telemedicine to provide cognitive training and lifestyle education. The goal is to see if this approach can help prevent further cognitive decline and improve overall well-being.
To participate in the study, individuals should feel that their thinking has declined compared to five years ago, but they should not have any significant memory issues detected by a doctor. Excluded from the trial are those with serious mental health conditions or unstable medical issues. Participants will take part in 20 sessions at home, spread over five weeks, where they will engage in activities designed to boost their thinking skills and learn about healthy living. Throughout the study, researchers will assess changes in participants' cognitive abilities, mood, and overall quality of life.
