ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the reasons behind unexplained iron deficiency anemia (IDA), which is a condition where your body doesn't have enough iron, leading to low blood levels. The goal of the study is to find out how common significant findings are during upper and lower endoscopies in patients who have IDA but no clear cause for it. An endoscopy is a procedure where doctors use a special camera to look inside the digestive system. By looking for issues like ulcers or polyps, researchers hope to understand better what might be causing the anemia.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 18 and 70 years old and have been diagnosed with IDA without an obvious reason for it. You cannot be pregnant, actively bleeding, or have certain health issues that would make sedation unsafe. If you join the study, you will undergo upper and lower endoscopies, and if any significant findings are noted, tissue samples will be taken for further testing. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to help improve diagnosis and treatment for people with unexplained iron deficiency anemia.
