ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different doses of a medication called intravenous lidocaine can help manage pain during and after surgery. The goal is to see if using lidocaine can reduce the amount of pain patients feel while they recover and lower the chances of having long-lasting pain after surgery. This study is part of a program aimed at improving recovery after surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old and scheduled for specific types of surgeries, such as open surgery for gallbladder removal. You should generally be healthy, without serious liver or kidney issues, and not taking strong pain medications before the surgery. If you join the study, you will receive either lidocaine or a placebo (a substance with no active medication) during your surgery. The trial is currently looking for volunteers, so if you're interested or have questions, it's a good idea to talk to your doctor.
