ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how a mobile health program can improve birth outcomes and the health of infants in Nepal. Researchers are aware that many issues, like low birth weight and preterm births, can be linked to poor maternal health, lack of information, and social support. To address this, the study will first gather insights from pregnant women about their needs and preferences through focus group discussions. Based on this feedback, they will create educational videos and mobile health tools to support pregnant women.

Pregnant women aged 18 and older, who are between 14 to 22 weeks along in their pregnancy, and can read and understand Nepali are eligible to participate. Those who join will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: one will receive standard care along with a control video and follow-up calls, while the other will receive standard care plus the mobile health program, which includes educational videos and text messages. The study will track the health of the mothers and their babies from enrollment until the child is one year old, focusing on important factors like birth weight and growth. This trial aims to provide valuable insights into how mobile health can help improve the health of mothers and their infants.
