Polyethylene Wear Particle Total Hip Arthroplasty

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating a new type of material called Vitamin E-containing polyethylene, which is used in hip replacement surgeries. Researchers want to find out if this new material causes less wear and tear compared to the traditional polyethylene used in hip replacements. Understanding how much wear this material produces is important because it could lead to better long-term outcomes for patients who have hip replacements.

To participate in this study, you need to be over 20 years old and scheduled for a revision hip surgery. You should also have had your first hip replacement at least two years ago. If you join the trial, you'll help researchers learn more about how these materials perform in real-life situations, which could benefit future patients. Before participating, you'll receive a thorough explanation of the study and will need to provide written consent to ensure you understand everything involved.
