ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how idiopathic scoliosis, a condition where the spine curves abnormally, affects the way people walk (their gait). Scoliosis can change how a person balances and distributes weight on their feet, which can lead to problems over time. To better understand this, researchers will use a special test called pedobarography, which measures the pressure points on the soles of the feet while walking. By analyzing the gait of patients with scoliosis and comparing it to that of healthy individuals, the study aims to find early signs of foot and leg issues that might arise from scoliosis, helping to create better treatment plans.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis by a doctor and have a specific degree of spinal curvature, as measured on an X-ray. Unfortunately, those with other orthopedic or neurological conditions affecting mobility, or anyone who has had prior spine surgery, cannot take part. The study will involve around 30 patients who will have their walking patterns evaluated in a supportive environment, helping to gather important information that could lead to improved care for people with scoliosis.
