ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Spectral CT in Radiotherapy for Cervical Cancer," is looking at a new type of imaging called spectral CT to see how it can help in treating cervical cancer with radiotherapy. The goal is to improve the way doctors plan and deliver radiation treatment to patients. The trial is currently recruiting women aged between 65 and 74 who have been diagnosed with cervical cancer and are receiving a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
To participate in this study, patients must have a confirmed diagnosis of cervical cancer through a tissue sample and should have already undergone a specific type of imaging called 18F-FDG PET/CT before starting their treatment. Participants will receive special CT scans during different phases of blood flow to gather important information. However, women who have had regular CT scans without the spectral component, have allergies to the contrast dye used in imaging, or are pregnant cannot join this study. By participating, women will help researchers understand whether this advanced imaging technique can lead to better treatment outcomes for cervical cancer.
