ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well certain tests can determine if the radial artery (a blood vessel in your arm) is suitable for use during heart surgery called coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). The main goal is to find out what factors affect the accuracy of these tests in patients who have problems with their heart's blood supply, known as ischaemic heart disease.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult (ages 65-74) who is scheduled for elective or urgent CABG surgery and is eligible for radial artery harvesting. If you join, you will undergo some simple tests to assess your radial artery's condition, and afterward, you will complete a questionnaire about how you feel physically after the surgery. This research is taking place in two cardiothoracic hospitals, and it's important to note that children and patients who can't give consent, as well as those who don't speak English, won't be included. Your participation could help improve heart surgery techniques in the future!
