ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how advanced imaging techniques, called Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) and auditory tractography, can help doctors better understand the auditory pathways in patients with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). These techniques might provide important information for patients who are considering cochlear implants, especially when standard tests have not clearly shown how well the hearing pathways are working. The goal is to help doctors make informed decisions about surgery, such as which ear to implant, and to give patients realistic expectations about the potential benefits of the procedure.
To participate in this study, patients need to have confirmed sensorineural hearing loss, but they should not have any neurological or psychiatric conditions that could affect their stability during the MRI scan. Additionally, patients who already have cochlear implants or cannot undergo an MRI for medical reasons will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo imaging tests that will help create a detailed map of their hearing abilities, contributing to a better understanding of hearing loss and potential treatment options.
