ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how using a special computer model can help emergency department (ED) doctors make better decisions about whether patients need to be admitted to the hospital. The model is designed to ensure fairness and reduce differences in treatment among different groups of patients. The researchers will ask ED doctors to assess patient admission risks before and after they consult the model’s recommendations, helping to see if this technology can improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities.
To participate in this study, doctors must be board-certified emergency department physicians working at Boston Children's Hospital. However, they cannot be included if they are currently caring for the patients they are assessing. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it begins, doctors can expect to spend time reviewing the model's predictions and sharing their assessments, which will help researchers understand the model's effectiveness in improving fairness in healthcare decisions.
