ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called "Imaging Predictors of Cryolysis Efficacy for Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea," is looking at a new treatment called the Cryosa Procedure for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The goal of the study is to learn more about how well this procedure works and to understand the reasons behind its effectiveness. Researchers believe that certain factors, like the amount of fat in the throat area, might help predict who will benefit most from the Cryosa Procedure. They also think that successful treatment may lead to a decrease in this throat fat.

To participate, you need to be enrolled in a related trial called ARCTIC-3 at the University of Pennsylvania and provide consent to take part in this study. Participants will undergo several tests, including MRIs and ultrasounds, both before and after the Cryosa Procedure. These tests will help the researchers gather important information about how the treatment works and its effects on OSA symptoms. It’s important to note that people with specific medical conditions that prevent them from having MRIs or who are pregnant cannot participate in this trial.
