ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the ECA-enhanced Document Explanation RCT, is exploring how well a computer-animated character can explain medical illustrations to people. The goal is to see if this animated character helps people understand medical information better than if they tried to understand the illustrations on their own. Additionally, the trial will compare how effective the computer character is when shown on a regular computer screen versus in a more immersive virtual reality setting. Researchers want to find out which method not only helps people understand better but also reduces any anxiety they might feel about medical information.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old, speak either English or Spanish fluently, and be able to read with corrected vision. There are no specific exclusions, so if you meet these criteria, you could be eligible. Although the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to engage with different ways of learning about medical illustrations and share their experiences with the researchers. This trial could help improve how medical information is communicated to everyone!
