ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different methods for placing a breathing tube in young children during surgery. The two methods being compared are direct laryngoscopy, which is a traditional way of doing this, and video laryngoscopy, which uses a small camera to help see the airway better. The study aims to find out which method is quicker and safer for children aged 2 to 8 years who need surgery and have normal airways.
To be part of this trial, children must be between 2 and 8 years old and be in good health according to specific medical guidelines. However, children with certain conditions, like those with complex airway issues or obesity, will not be eligible. Participants will have their breathing tube placed using one of the two methods, and the researchers will track how long it takes and if there are any problems during the process. If you're considering this trial for your child, it's important to know that it is not yet recruiting participants, so you may need to wait before enrolling.
