ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods for preparing the bowel before a colonoscopy, which is a procedure to examine the inside of the colon. One method uses a smaller amount of a solution called polyethylene glycol (PEG) combined with a medication called Elobixibat, while the other method uses a larger amount of PEG alone. The researchers want to find out if the new method with less PEG and Elobixibat works just as well as the standard method with more PEG in helping doctors get a clear view of the colon.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult between the ages of 18 and 80 and have a reason for needing a colonoscopy, such as screening for colorectal cancer, experiencing abdominal pain, or having a positive stool test. Participants will be asked to provide consent and will be monitored throughout the study. It’s important to note that individuals who are pregnant, have certain medical conditions (like bowel obstruction or severe kidney disease), or have had previous issues with bowel preparation are not eligible to join. If you qualify and choose to participate, you will help researchers understand how effective the new preparation method can be, which could improve future bowel preparation for colonoscopies.
