ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the protein quality of two alternative protein sources: fava beans and honey chlorella. The researchers want to see how these proteins are digested and used by healthy adults. Fava beans will be processed to create a meat-like product, while honey chlorella will be served as a drink. By tracking a special label in these proteins, the study will measure how well they are absorbed and utilized by the body over an 8-hour period after eating.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 30 years old and in good health, with a body mass index (BMI) that falls within a certain range. Women who participate must also be using birth control. However, those with food allergies, certain medical conditions like diabetes or heart disease, or who engage in excessive exercise will not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to consume meals that include these protein sources and help researchers learn more about alternative proteins. This study is not yet recruiting participants, so there’s still time to consider whether it’s right for you!
