ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two medications, granisetron and ondansetron, to see which one is better at managing blood pressure and reducing shivering in women undergoing elective cesarean deliveries with spinal anesthesia. Spinal anesthesia can sometimes cause low blood pressure and shivering, which can be uncomfortable and may lead to more serious problems for both the mother and baby. By testing these two medications, researchers hope to find a way to improve the experience and safety of cesarean sections.
To participate in this study, women who are having a planned cesarean delivery with spinal anesthesia may be eligible. However, those who refuse to participate, have significant neurological or psychological issues, are allergic to the study medications, or have certain heart or blood pressure conditions may not be included. If you join this trial, you can expect to receive one of the two medications during your surgery and be monitored for any effects on your blood pressure and shivering. This study is important for finding better ways to ensure the health and comfort of mothers and their babies during cesarean deliveries.
