ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new device called CIMON, which helps doctors understand how well compression bandages work for patients with chronic swelling in their lower legs. If you have been experiencing this kind of swelling and have been referred for compression bandaging, you might be eligible to participate. To qualify, you need to have a certain level of swelling in your legs, specifically a measurement between 35-75 cm at the widest part of your lower leg. However, if you have any open wounds, certain infections, or serious heart or kidney issues, you may not be able to take part.
Participants in the study will have the CIMON sensor placed on their leg before they start their usual treatment with compression bandages. This study will last for 14 days, during which you'll receive the standard care based on your swelling's severity. It's an opportunity to contribute to important research that may improve treatment for people with similar conditions in the future. If you're interested, the trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders aged 65 and older.
