ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new program designed to help pregnant women in San Bernardino County quit smoking. The study is focused on integrating Community Health Workers (CHWs) into prenatal care to support expectant mothers who smoke. If you are a woman who is currently pregnant (less than 24 weeks along), over 18 years old, and smoke more than three cigarettes a day, you may be eligible to join this program. Participants need to be willing to set a quit date within two weeks of enrolling and must be receiving prenatal care at specific health centers.
If you choose to participate, you can expect to receive support from trained health workers who will guide you through the quitting process. They will help you develop a personalized plan to stop smoking and offer encouragement along the way. It's important to note that this trial is currently recruiting participants, so there is an opportunity for you to be part of this valuable research that aims to improve the health of mothers and their babies by reducing smoking during pregnancy.
