ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a type of therapy called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to see how well it can help people with Major Depressive Disorder in Pakistan. The researchers are adapting this therapy to make it more suitable for the local culture and will test it both in person and online. They want to find out if these two ways of delivering the therapy are effective in treating depression.
To participate in the trial, you should be between 20 and 50 years old and show signs of Major Depressive Disorder. The study aims to include both men and women equally, and ideally, participants should not have received any recent psychotherapy or medication for depression. During the trial, eligible participants can expect to receive either in-person or online therapy sessions designed to help them manage their depression. It's important to note that individuals with significant cognitive or brain disorders will not be included in this study.
