ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the quality of life in school-aged boys who were treated for a condition called posterior urethral valves (PUV) during their first year of life. PUV is a blockage in the urethra that can lead to serious kidney and bladder problems. The researchers want to learn more about how these treatments affect the children's everyday lives, including their physical health, feelings, and activities. They will use a specific questionnaire called the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory to gather information from the participants.
To be eligible for this study, boys aged 6 to 17 who were treated for PUV between 2006 and 2018 at the Femme-Mère-Enfant Hospital in Lyon can participate, along with their parents or relatives. However, children with severe disabilities that affect their ability to communicate or complete the questionnaire will not be included. Participants can expect to share their experiences and feelings about their health and life after treatment, which will help provide valuable insights for future patients and their families.
