This clinical trial is studying how a special program, called a psychoeducational activity, can help people who suffer from chronic pain that isn’t related to cancer. The goal is to see if this program can improve aspects like pain levels, mood, and overall quality of life. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will take part in the program, while the other group will continue with their usual treatment without any changes. The study will last for three months, during which both groups will be evaluated at the start, after one month, and again after three months to see how they are doing.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old, live in the areas served by the hospital, and have been diagnosed with chronic pain for at least six months without relief from standard treatments. It’s important that they want to join the program and can complete the necessary paperwork. However, people who are still being diagnosed, those with cancer-related pain, or those with severe mental health issues that could affect their understanding of the program will not be included. Participants can expect to engage in workshops aimed at empowering them to manage their pain better and will be followed up six months after the program ends to see how long the benefits last.

Eligibility criteria

• Inclusion Criteria:
• • Patients aged 18 years or older,
• • Residing in the areas served by HSJDA,
• • With non-cancer chronic pain already diagnosed and treated for at least 6 months but not relieved by the usual treatment,
• • Who have explicitly and in writing expressed their desire to participate in the workshops and the study through the Informed Consent document,
• • And who complete the initial documentation necessary for their evaluation.
• Exclusion Criteria:
• • Patients in the diagnostic phase,
• • Patients with pain exclusively associated with cancer pathology,
• • Patients with a life expectancy of less than one year,
• • Patients with severe cognitive or mental illnesses that prevent them from understanding both the content of the workshops and the measurement instruments.
