ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into whether a technique called Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) can help pregnant women who are experiencing severe nausea and vomiting, a condition known as hyperemesis gravidarum. The researchers want to find out if EFT can reduce these uncomfortable symptoms and if it's safe for use during pregnancy. They will compare the effects of EFT with traditional nursing education to see which approach helps more with managing nausea and vomiting in these women.
To participate, women need to be pregnant, between 6 to 14 weeks along, and aged 20 to 40. They should be experiencing significant nausea and vomiting, rating their discomfort at 5 or higher on a scale, and have no serious pregnancy complications or psychological disorders. Those who join the study will answer some questions about their symptoms before receiving one session of EFT. After two days and again after a week, they will answer the same questions to see if there has been any change in their symptoms. There’s also a control group that will receive educational support instead of EFT. This study is not yet recruiting participants, so stay tuned for updates if you think you might be interested!
