ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a special program called prehabilitation can help people with colon cancer before they have surgery to remove part of their colon. The program includes physical exercise, better nutrition, and psychological support, and it takes place in the four weeks leading up to the surgery. The researchers believe that participating in this program may lead to better physical strength eight weeks after surgery, fewer complications during recovery, and lower medical costs.
To join the study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for elective surgery to remove part of their colon due to cancer. However, individuals with advanced cancer that has spread, serious walking difficulties, certain kidney problems, or those who have had intense pre-surgery treatments like chemotherapy or radiation are not eligible. If you take part in the trial, you can expect to engage in a supportive program designed to prepare your body and mind for surgery, which may help you recover faster and with fewer issues.
