ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving how doctors assess the airways of young children who need anesthesia for surgery. Specifically, researchers want to find out if using a special ultrasound technique can provide a quicker and more accurate way to evaluate a child's airway and determine the right size of the breathing tube compared to traditional methods. This study is important because having the right information about a child's airway can help make surgeries safer.
To be part of this study, children must be between 1 and 4 years old and have a healthy weight for their age. Their parents will need to give consent for them to participate. The study is looking for children who are in good health and scheduled for elective surgery that requires general anesthesia. However, children with certain conditions, like existing airway problems or injuries, won't be eligible. If your child qualifies, they will undergo some assessments before their surgery, and the research team will monitor and gather information during the process. This is an observational study, meaning that the researchers will be watching and learning from the experience rather than changing any treatment.
