ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how two special methods can help reduce pain and fear in young children during blood tests, known as phlebotomy. The methods being tested are a device that applies gentle, vibrating cold, called a "bee-buzzy," and the use of a marionette doll that looks like a bee. The goal is to see if these creative distractions can make the experience easier for preschool children.
To participate in this study, children need to be between 3 and 6 years old and must have successfully had a blood test on the first try. Unfortunately, children with chronic illnesses or certain mental disabilities, or those who have taken pain relief medication in the past day, won't be eligible. If your child is chosen, you can expect a supportive environment where the aim is to help them feel less anxious and more comfortable during their blood test. This trial is currently looking for participants, and it could be a great opportunity to help improve care for children facing similar situations.
